Cronutz at Anybody Coffee TriNoma

Here in Manila, the latest craze is for the Cronut™. And there's no doubt, that Chef Dominique Ansel had a great idea of creating a new version of croissant with a twist of making it a doughnut, which is why many have unveiled its version of the hybrid pastry.

One of the new coffee shops is Anybody Coffee who followed the new trend of selling another version which is Cronutz. It comes with five (5) unique flavors which are...

Milk Chocolate; Strawberry;

Verdict
I like the Dark Chocolate Cronutz because of the right sweetness level. On the other hand, the topping of other four (4) Cronutz are a little sweet to my taste. Overall, I like the quality of their Cronuts, so I'll surely come back for more Dark Chocolate Cronutz.

Sincere Cafe & Restaurant at Banawe St.

Fried Chicken, Sincerity
Sincerity Fried Chicken Half Php 130
Well-known for their fried chicken, we decided to have a late lunch at Sincere. Their fried chicken is very crunchy and flavorful. This place is very simple.

No fancy furniture and decorations. It's air-conditioned but still simple compared to the restaurants located in Ortigas and Makati.

Sincere
Curry Chichen Php 180

It lacked the richness of the flavors and the coconut milk is overwhelming to the point that is the only thing I can taste that made the curry flavor disappear.

Pork, Siomai
Pork Siomai Php 80
It was a good one, their sauce was also good. It's actually a combination of pork and shrimp. Tastes good and tastes like a pure pork and shrimp.

Garlic, Rice
Garlic Rice Php 70
The staff are very kind to give us black gulaman dessert for free!

Q Kebab

One of the newest addition to the number of restaurants in Katipunan area. The place is well lit, with soft comfy seats on one side, a big photo wall on the other side and a standard tables and chairs.

Chicken Shawarma Php 150

The food was good but I realized that I was not into Middle Eastern dishes that time, so I wanted rice but it's too late. The sauces were good and they are perfect with my order.

Premium Beef Basmati Bowl Php 175
Strips of beef resting on a bed of soft basmati rice, sliced onions, tomatoes and cucumber, plus gobs of garlic sauce

Experience the Difference at Oat Square

Oat Square oat drink contains all the goodness of rich oats. It is a nutritious drink with a refreshing taste from fresh fruits. Ms. Jam Liao, owner of Oat Square, tells us that these is their family business so expect to expand more branches in the future. "The Oat Square, CJ, Jam and Jaya Liao, three sisters who grew up eating oatmeal for breakfast – they actually see this is a delicious business opportunity. " (Source: http://www.malaya.com.ph/)

It's a tiny place so there's only enough room inside for customers to order. The friendly cashier told us about their best sellers and something about the Healthy Oats Pops (HOPS).

Kao-Chi Restaurant 高記餐廳

Chinese food is hearty and satisfying. It also reminds me of my not-so-distant childhood. When I was a kid, I always associated Chinese food with a celebration because it was the food served at birthdays, anniversaries, baptisms and weddings that we attended. Now that I'm older, I don't have to wait for special occasions.

We had a couple of dishes on this particular date but I want to highlight the rare finds that I actually enjoyed:
Wuxi Spareribs
Xiao Long Bao
From the look alone and while doing this review, I am already craving to eat it again. That's how yummy it isI also like Xiao Long Bao or small basket dumpling, it's tender steamed pork dumpling with tasty soup that is wrapped delicately in soft wanton wrapper and served with ginger sauce.
Fried Xiao Long Bao
The next dish that impressed me was the cornflake encrusted mushrooms. The contrast between the crunchy Fried Xiao Long Bao and Steam Xiao Long Bao is great. It also has a superior and delicious flavor.
Abalone Chicken Soup
The soup tasted like usual Chinese noodle soup and at served at just the right temperature.

The interior motif at Kao-Chi Restaurant is to feel the ambiance of Binondo or China. Predictably, the interiors are red with gold and black accents. The space is modest, but the integration of various textures (velour seats, leather-lined Chinese screens), as well as the pop art paintings on the ceiling, gives it a luxe charm.

Chicken Madness at Flaming Wings

I have been raving about this place for so long. I saw some reviews about this that Flaming Wings is the best place to eat Buffalo wings.

Buffalo Wings w/ Honey Mustard Dip
Chicken wings will always be one of my weaknesses when it comes to good foo, and Flaming Wings succeeds in serving me what I want. This place is a worthy chicken wings to check out.
Garlic Fries w/ Bleu Cheese Dip
The fries were the typical ones we get. It didn't capture the taste of bleu cheese but it was fine.

Wicked Oreos
The wicked oreos is really a good meal invention. It is perfect for dessert. For only 75 pesos, you can enjoy this delicious and outstanding specialty.

I'll definitely come back here at Flaming Wings. I am really satisfied.

Yabu: House of Katsu @ Robinson's Magnolia

Many people have been raving about Yabu because of the good katsu they serve here. That's why we came all the way to Robinson's Magnolia to try their famous Katsu. Judging by the pictures I saw, it was a sure try.

Tonkatsu Sauce

Hire Tonkatsu
One bite and you will know the value of this magical dish: The delicate crunch of the bread batter coating gives way to soft, lightly salted pork meat that is close to the softness of sponge cake.

Katsudon
Crunchy on the outside and tender on the inside. YUM! Now that's one kind of katsu dish that I would love! Their selections were a huge contrast to the katsu meals that I have been eating.

Chicken Tonkatsu Meal
And then comes the katsu cutlet, with its entourage of miso soup, rice, cabbage and a few slices of fruit. For the light eater, this can actually be good for two. We were surprised by the size of the platter when it was served. It occupied the half table already. I guess their tables are really small. Some of our things fell down during our lunch that time.

I'm definitely going back here because I enjoyed my first experience. As the saying goes, first impression lasts. This place deserves a repeat visitation.
