Yabu: House of Katsu @ Robinson's Magnolia

Many people have been raving about Yabu because of the good katsu they serve here. That's why we came all the way to Robinson's Magnolia to try their famous Katsu. Judging by the pictures I saw, it was a sure try.

Tonkatsu Sauce

Hire Tonkatsu
One bite and you will know the value of this magical dish: The delicate crunch of the bread batter coating gives way to soft, lightly salted pork meat that is close to the softness of sponge cake.

Katsudon
Crunchy on the outside and tender on the inside. YUM! Now that's one kind of katsu dish that I would love! Their selections were a huge contrast to the katsu meals that I have been eating.

Chicken Tonkatsu Meal
And then comes the katsu cutlet, with its entourage of miso soup, rice, cabbage and a few slices of fruit. For the light eater, this can actually be good for two. We were surprised by the size of the platter when it was served. It occupied the half table already. I guess their tables are really small. Some of our things fell down during our lunch that time.

I'm definitely going back here because I enjoyed my first experience. As the saying goes, first impression lasts. This place deserves a repeat visitation.

A Night of Gluttony at Calle Bistro

You can say our stomachs were all happy that night. Take a sneak peek at what we have experienced that night.

We tried the Mad About Spuds Lasagna for our merienda, and cost Php 120. It was cheesy, rich and creamy. And for our drinks, we tried SimpliciTea

For dessert, there was a stall named Mr and Mrs Brussels that was selling Belgian waffles. We bought Nutella and Banana flavor for Php 110 only.

Some of the interesting stalls we saw..

We experienced Calle Bistro and also to support the UP JIA. To be honest, it wasn't exactly the biggest food bazaar we’ve been to but for an event organized by students, I must say it was pretty okay for its league.

Air Asia Philippines Promo Fares

MANILA, 17 September 2012 – Better than a big seat sale, Philippines’ AirAsia today rolled out its Free Seats promo where guest can travel from Clark International Airport in Pampanga to Davao and Kalibo with an all-in fare of P275 pesos one way.
The P275 seat sale is actually a zero-fare promo where the seat is totally free and the guest is actually paying only P275 to cover the fuel surcharge, processing fee and government mandated fees such as aviation security fee and VAT,” AirAsia Inc. CEO Maan Hontiveros announced at a press conference in Makati City.

The Free Seats promo will be available online at www.airasia.com from 18 - 23 September 2012, and guests will be able to travel from 1 April to 30 September 2013.
“AirAsia continues to change the landscape of low-cost travel. With our promos, planning a trip is easiest with our fares and rates all clearly laid out to our guests,” Hontiveros added.
AirAsia flies daily to Davao and Kalibo (twice daily) and Puerto Princesa City (four times/week). These services provide accessibility for local and international tourists to visit the world famous Boracay beach, Puerto Princesa Underground River and Davao’s Philippine Eagle Sanctuary and other exciting tourist attractions.
Hontiveros also hinted that the zero base fare promo will also be offered on the Filipino carrier’s international destinations.
Currently, AirAsia flies daily to Hong Kong, Macau and Kuala Lumpur.

Swensen's Eastwood Mall

Swensen's is here! This ice cream salon is known all over the world and we were really happy to know that it is here in the Philippines. Although it was raining, we trooped over to Eastwood Mall to get a taste of Swensen's.

For my friend, she got Hot Fudge Bonus, it had a triangular wafer with Swensen's mark, the ice cream combination of the chocolate and vanilla with whipped cream and syrup was really great!

Hot Fudge Bonus Php 140
Waffle Sundae Php 175
The place is cute, and very clean. I love the comfy couch and good ambiance. But the price is really expensive.
